Faris by Kajal opens like a lavender bush after a spring rain, all cool aromatic bite from juniper and bergamot, with a citrusy apple peel brightness that feels effortless. The heart turns toward a barbershop spice rack, clove and nutmeg jostling with a restrained floral duo of jasmine and rose, never tipping into sweetness. It is a clean, tailored scent, leaning fresh and woody with a warm amber undercurrent, but it wears like a crisp linen shirt, not a velvet jacket.
The drydown settles into a familiar but well mannered blend of sandalwood and vetiver, softened by tonka and patchouli. This is where the fragrance shows its hand as a thoughtful, niche take on a classic aromatic fougere, but the sillage is modest at best and longevity hovers around four hours before retreating into a skin scent. It feels natural enough, though the synthetic seams are invisible.
Who should wear it? The guy whose grooming is impeccable but who doesn’t want to announce his arrival from across the room. It is a daytime scent through and through, best in spring and summer, equally at home in the office or a casual brunch. Skip it if you want projection that fills a hallway or a winter warrior that cuts through cold air. Faris is a well drawn sketch, not a full oil painting, and that is its charm and its limit. ☀️
