Our take

You spritz and get a burst of grapefruit, sharp and pink, with geranium adding a green, almost peppery bite. That fades quickly into a sweet, candied patchouli, not the dark, dank kind but a fluffy, almost edible version, thanks to a heavy dose of sugar. It turns powdery and soft in the dry down, with a whisper of vanilla and balsamic warmth that sits close to the skin like a dusting of cinnamon sugar on a wool sweater.

This is a lip smacking, girlish patchouli, the olfactory equivalent of a box of chocolate truffles left open in a cedar chest. It feels synthetic in the best way, like a well made fruity gourmand from a mid range brand, not trying to fool anyone into thinking it’s natural. The longevity is a genuine problem, it fades in under three hours, and the sillage is a shy elbow nudge at best, forcing you to reapply or hug someone to share it.

Who should wear it? The person who wants a friendly, approachable patchouli, the one who loved Angel but found it too loud. Skip it if you crave depth or lasting power, or if you prefer your patchouli smoky and leathery. Wear it to a pumpkin patch in October or a spring brunch where you want to smell sweet without announcing yourself from across the room. It’s a lovely, fleeting moment, like a flower pressed in a book you almost forget is there.
