A squeeze of bergamot and a bright flash of tangerine keep the opening from feeling too somber, though the citrus here is more rind than juice, offering a bitter, green brightness rather than a cheerful breakfast vibe. Mate enters the room quietly, bringing a dry, hay-like texture that pairs neatly with the violet’s soft powder. Lily-of-the-valley adds a dewy, clean edge that prevents the heart from becoming too dusty or melancholic. As it settles, the base offers a gentle landing. Tonka bean and amber provide a smooth, vanilla-tinged warmth, but the cedar and musk keep it from becoming a true gourmand.
