Hotan
Fragrance notes
Character
Hotan opens with chamomile and mint that feel brisk and slightly medicinal. Cloves add a dry heat that keeps the first minutes from leaning too soft. The herbal edge is clear, giving the fragrance a clean, almost steam-like quality that feels awake and alert.
Rose soon takes the center, supported by lily-of-the-valley and sandalwood. The flowers are polite rather than lush, and the sandalwood grounds them with a pale, creamy wood. It reads like a garden path in bright sun, where green stems and petals sit side by side without heavy shadow.
White musk and amber settle in last, turning the blend powdery and warm. The musky accord smooths the spices so the cloves no longer bite. It stays close to the skin in texture, wrapping the wearer in a clean, slightly soapy haze that feels tidy and composed.
The mint and chamomile can read more like a body wash than a true perfume, and the rose lacks depth once the top notes fade. The powdery drydown may feel dated to those who prefer crisp, modern woods. It is a simple, linear blend that offers comfort without much change or surprise.
