Our take

You uncap Ambergreen and the first spray is a slap of wet foliage, a green that lands like crushed bell pepper and shiso leaf, raw and almost metallic. The basil and galbanum sharpen that vegetal bite while a splash of green mandarin keeps it from turning too bitter. As it settles, the fig leaf and coriander add a subtle, peppery fuzz, and then the heart reveals its secret: a hushed florality from hedione and the velvety powder of orris root, all riding a current of ambroxan that gives the green things a salty, almost skin-like warmth. The dry down softens into guaiac wood and a faint, luminous amber, but the grassy spine never fully retreats.

The overall character is a gardener’s hands after pruning mint and basil in the rain — earthy, wet, and stubbornly green. It feels natural in a sharp, almost confrontational way, not cozy. That’s the beauty and the limit: with a sillage around 3.29 and longevity hovering at 3.65, Ambergreen stays close and fades sooner than you’d like. You have to reapply, or accept its quiet, fleeting presence. It’s a niche green that refuses to sweeten itself for mass appeal, and that’s exactly what makes it magnetic for the right person. If you love full-throated gourmands or soapy florals, skip this. But if you crave the smell of a torn leaf or a rain-soaked herb patch, wear it on a crisp spring morning, preferably outdoors, and let it blend into the air before you chase it.
