Our take

Here is the review.

Bois de Cyprès opens with a bright, almost citrusy snap of lemon and mandarin, but a fuzzy cardamom softens the edges immediately. The heart is where it finds its voice: a cool, aromatic blend of cypress needles and water mint that smells like a shaded grove after a brief summer shower, with lavender adding a polite, herbal calm. The dry down brings cashmeran and clary sage, turning the green slightly powdery and warm, while vetiver anchors it with a clean, rooty earthiness.

This is not a loud fragrance. With a sillage barely above a whisper and longevity that fades after a few hours, it behaves like a well-mannered personal scent, more for the wearer than the room. It feels natural and slightly synthetic in the best way, like a high-end drugstore aftershave that got a promotion. The overall character is a soft-spoken, aromatic cypress grove at midday, with the citrus still glinting on the leaves.

It suits the man who wants a fresh, uncomplicated spring or summer companion for daytime, whether the office or a casual walk. Skip it if you crave beast mode projection or a dark, brooding woody scent. This is a light, green, minty cypress that whispers and then politely vanishes, leaving only a ghost of vetiver behind. It does its job well but asks you to reapply if you want it to last past lunch.
