Our take

Mystique Myrrhe opens with a dry, resinous snap. The myrrh and incense feel powdered, lifted by cracked black pepper and a bright scatter of pink pepper that keeps the smoke from settling too heavily. It is a church door rather than a church pew, brisk and aromatic before the deeper materials arrive.

Coffee and vanilla sit at the heart, but the vanilla here is resinous and dark, supported by iris and papyrus. Oud adds a woody depth that never dominates, letting the cacao pod and leather in the base take over with a polished, slightly bitter edge. Benzoin and ambergris round it out into a warm, balsamic finish that feels expensive and composed.

Picture a narrow street after rain, lights reflecting on wet stone, a heavy coat pulled tight against the cold air. The scent fits that kind of evening, rich and close, best suited to someone who enjoys spice and resin over fresh citrus or clean musk. The one drawback is the cacao and tonka combination, which leans sweet enough that it may feel slightly cluttered by the end of the wear.
