Fragrance notes
Character
Cardamom and saffron open the fragrance with a dry, golden heat. The bergamot cuts through that warmth with a sharp, clean edge. Grasse rose sits at the center, soft but not powdery. Raspberry adds a small, tart brightness that keeps the flower from feeling heavy. Tea lends a faint, steeped-leaf bitterness to the heart. Black amber and patchouli form a dark, resinous floor beneath the petals. Sandalwood and Chinese cedar provide a smooth, dry woodiness that anchors the blend.
The scent feels composed for a sunlit room with tall windows. It carries the atmosphere of a quiet morning in a city apartment filled with natural light. The spicy accords feel awake rather than cozy. There is a balsamic depth that suggests polished wood and warm stone. The animalic accord is present as a faint, skin-like musk. It never turns sweet or cloying, staying aromatic and green even as the heavier notes settle.
Jérôme Epinette built a fragrance that smells like a beam of light hitting a wooden floor where a single rose has been placed on a table.
