Our take

Myrica Muse opens with a burst of jammy strawberry and tart tangerine, the pink pepper adding a fizzy, almost effervescent kick that keeps the sweetness from turning cloying. The myrica note is subtle, a slightly waxy green thread that grounds the fruit. Soon enough the heart reveals itself: a boozy rose, rum-soaked and syrupy, with patchouli lending a dusty, earthy undertone while jasmine and lily of the valley provide a clean, almost soapy floral lift. On the dry down it settles into a powdery vanilla musk, sandalwood and amber smoothing everything into a soft, cozy haze.

This is a scent that feels like a vintage vanity table scattered with berry-stained silk petals and a half-empty glass of dark rum. It is sweet, powdery, and warmly boozy, but the overall impression is delicate rather than heavy, more mainstream-leaning niche than daring art piece. The accords are well blended, but nothing here surprises or challenges.

The problem is that it barely lasts and even less projects. With a longevity barely above a whisper and sillage that hugs the skin like a shy secret, you will be reapplying within two hours if you want anyone to notice. This is a fragrance for a spring afternoon tea or a soft, romantic date where intimacy is the point. Skip it if you crave presence or performance. Who does it suit? Those who love a fruity floral with a hint of warmth and don't mind that it evaporates like a half-remembered dream.
