Our take

Al Somu presents oud and saffron in a thick, resinous blend. The cashmeran adds a smooth, synthetic wood that feels polished rather than raw. Musk and patchouli sit underneath, giving the composition a damp, earthy floor.

Powdery particles drift through the amber and warm spicy accords. The scent feels heavy on the skin, more suited to a quiet room than a bright street. It carries a distinct Middle Eastern character that leans traditional.

The saffron here lacks the bright, metallic spark found in similar compositions. Oud dominates so completely that the musk and patchouli rarely get a chance to breathe on their own. Cashmeran provides the only modern edge in the mix.

Al-Jazeera Perfumes launched this fragrance in 2023. The formula feels unbalanced because the oud turns slightly medicinal after a while. It becomes sharp in the nose and loses the initial warmth.
