Our take

The café terrace is still warmed by a late afternoon sun that filters through a row of plane trees just beginning to yellow at the edges. On the table, a linen napkin rests beside a glass of cold water beaded with condensation. The woman sitting there is reading a letter she has read once already, and the scent rising from her skin belongs entirely to this pause. Angelica leads, green and faintly bitter, the way fresh stems smell when they are snapped near the base. It keeps the florals from turning soft. Lilac comes second, powdery and cool, followed by ylang-ylang’s quiet cream and a rose that stays close rather than reaching. Nothing here announces itself. The drydown is already settling in: sandalwood smooths the edges while musk adds a gentle, clean haze that sits near the skin. It feels composed rather than arranged, each note allowed to keep its own shape. There is amber in the background, not loud, more a warmth than a color, holding the flowers and the wood together without gluing them. It is the sort of fragrance someone wears when the plan for the day is already finished and the evening has not yet begun, chosen not to impress but to accompany.
