Velur
Fragrance notes
Character
The courtyard is quiet after the evening meal. A stone bench holds the cold while a single lantern throws a narrow circle of light across the flagstones. Velur sits in that circle. Cypress and bergamot arrive first, bright against the dark air, with black pepper and cardamom adding a sharp bite that feels carved rather than sprinkled. The opening is crisp and upright, like the line of a jacket worn open to the night.
Papyrus and vetiver take the middle, dry and slightly dusty, while saffron brings a warm thread through the coriander. The heart does not rush. The scent stays present through the changing air, holding its place without reaching past the person who wears it. Stephanie Bakouche composed a fragrance that feels built for stone walls and cool air, where the notes can settle without competition.
The lantern flickers once and the light narrows further, drawing the resin and leather into a tighter shape against the cold, while the pepper still catches at the edge of every breath and the cypress refuses to let the warmth take over completely, keeping the whole composition fixed in that small, quiet space as the air continues to
