Icarus is a cool-weather citrus that prefers a coat to a T-shirt. The opening hits hard with lime, lemon, and grapefruit, but the acidity is immediate and bright rather than sunny. It does not linger in a beach mood. The argument here is that this is a resinous citrus built for wearing outdoors when the air has a bite, because the heart pulls it toward wood and white florals before the fruit can feel like juice.
Jasmine enters beside guaiac wood and elemi resin, and the flower turns clean rather than heady. The wood gives the citrus a dry spine, and the resin adds a faint lift that keeps the middle from collapsing into sweetness. You can feel the aromatic accord tightening the composition, so the lime and lemon stay structured instead of floating free.
The base is where the case settles. Musk, tonka bean, patchouli, amber, and the surrounding vanilla and balsamic accords turn the fragrance powdery and warm. The amber and patchouli ground the earlier brightness, while the musk and tonka bean smooth the edges until the citrus feels embedded in wood. It is a musky amber that happens to open with fruit.
