The sun sits low over a quiet street lined with bare trees, casting a pale gold light across the pavement. A scarf is pulled tight against the cool air, and the skin carries a bright, tart opening of sour cherry and raspberry, softened by a thin ribbon of caramel. A pinch of cinnamon and a flash of lemon keep the fruit from feeling heavy, letting the air around you stay crisp while the scent remains close and personal.
As the morning continues, damask rose and jasmine rise through the sweetness, their petals smoothed by the earthy depth of patchouli and the gentle warmth of tonka bean. The floral side never dominates, instead weaving through the sugar to create a texture that feels both refined and slightly untamed. Vanilla and amber begin to settle near the skin, joined by the dry presence of cedar and guaiac wood, while a faint trace of leather adds a grounded, masculine edge to the unfolding bouquet.
The entire scene feels wrapped in a gentle warmth that matches the light on the buildings, the fruit and flowers now fully embraced by wood and resin. Shubha Rajmohan composed this 2023 release for Trouvessa as a study in contrasts, where tart lemon and dark leather occupy the same breath, and where a sweet start slowly gives way to something more serious and enduring, the air still holding the mingled scent of vanilla and rose as the day moves forward and the chill in the air encourages another
