Musc Supreme can feel blunt when first applied. The musk here is loud and unpolished, and the amber adds a thick sweetness that some will find too heavy for comfort. It does not ease the wearer in with subtlety, and the animalic edge can read as rough rather than refined.
The powdery accord softens the sharper edges of the musk and gives the blend a gentle, vintage leaning texture. Floral touches lift the dense base and keep the scent from sitting flat, while the woody facet adds a dry backbone that prevents the amber from becoming syrup.
Ajmal keeps the composition linear rather than complex. It stays close to its two main notes throughout, so the experience is consistent but not particularly layered. The scent works best when the air is warm and the light is bright, where the heat opens the musk and the amber without making the room feel crowded.
The lack of development is the real drawback. What you smell at the start is what remains until the scent is gone, and that repetition can bore someone who likes a shifting profile. Musc Supreme is honest about its simplicity, but it offers no surprise along the way.
