Our take

Narcisse Taiji opens with a crisp snap of ginger over a ripe, almost waxy pear, while tuberose hovers like a ghost in the wings, not yet fully dressed. The pear is the real star here, offering a dewy sweetness that keeps the composition from veering too far into brooding territory. As the fruit fades, a hay-like warmth rises, tangled with the pollen-dusted narcissus and a powdery bran note that feels like late afternoon sun in a barn loft. The base pulls in leather and patchouli, but the musk keeps everything soft, almost intimate, like a sweater you’ve worn too many times to count.

This is a yellow floral for people who usually run from white florals, all herbal and green at the edges, with a faint animalic hum that never claws for attention. It paints a single image: a sunbeam hitting a dust mote in a stable during a spring thaw, half fresh air, half warm hay. The sillage is disappointingly low at 2.6, and longevity barely scrapes three and a half hours, so you will need to reapply or hug someone to get any feedback. That makes it a personal scent, best for daytime in spring or fall, suited to someone who wears fragrance for themselves rather than for a crowd. If you demand projection and all-day presence, skip it. This is a whisper, not a shout, and it wears that quiet like a secret worth keeping.
