Our take

Bohemian Woods asks patience at the start. The red pepper and absinthe hit with a sharp, almost medicinal bite that can feel thin before the resin steps in. Once the opening settles, the fragrance grows richer and more cohesive. Elemi resin brings a pale, citrus-tinged wood that anchors the spice, while freesia adds a soft floral lift that keeps the early stage from feeling too dry. The heart deepens the mood with incense and saffron, laying a warm, slightly metallic glow over patchouli that is earthy rather than dirty. Iris smooths the edges with a powdery veil, pulling the spices toward something more refined.

In the drydown, leather and vanilla take over, but the vanilla here is dark and resinous, not sugary. It wraps the leather in a balsamic warmth that feels suited to a dimly lit room when the air is cold outside. Musk lingers beneath the surface, giving the scent a gentle presence that stays close to the skin without fading quickly. The composition holds together for a long while, changing slowly as the woody base merges with the remaining spice. There is a quiet animalic trace that adds depth without overwhelming the amber and smoke, and the overall impression remains warm, dry, and slightly austere as the final notes continue to shift.
