Our take

Porsche Design Sport opens with a brisk slap of rosemary and grapefruit, the herbal bitterness cutting through a bergamot so sharp it feels like cold glass. That initial hit is bracing, almost clinical, but it softens quickly as violet leaf and a salty marine accord swim in, churning like a tide over wet stone. The heart is where this fragrance finds its rhythm: a synthetic, ozonic freshness that nods to aquatics without drowning in sunscreen sweetness. Neroli flickers briefly, a pale lemon-lime ghost, before cedar and patchouli lock everything into a dry, woody base that sits close to the skin.

This is a fragrance that speeds along the surface, never diving deep. The longevity clocks in at a modest 3.30, and sillage at 3.05, which means you get a clean, aromatic wake for about four hours before it retreats into a whisper of cedar and faint amber. It feels engineered rather than composed, like a polished interior of a sports car: functional, sharp, and vaguely synthetic. The overall image is a man rinsing salt spray off his hands on a marina deck, sandalwood soap and wet rope mixing in the air.

It suits the guy who wants a crisp, no-nonsense scent for the gym, a morning commute, or a spring weekend errand. The summer rating of 100% is telling, it thrives in heat as a corrective to humidity. But if you crave depth or projection, skip it. This is a fragrance that does one thing well and then evaporates, a quick sketch rather than a portrait.
