Apricot & Aprilia
Fragrance notes
Character
Apricot & Aprilia opens with a bright apricot note that feels plump and sun-warmed, sitting beside a lily that carries a clean, slightly watery white floral character. The fruit is sweet but not candied, and the lily keeps the opening from leaning too heavily into gourmand territory. As the fragrance develops, black rose moves into the center. This rose is dark and has a noticeable lactonic quality that gives the floral heart a creamy texture. The rose also carries an animalic edge that adds weight to the composition. Powdery and soft spicy accords sit underneath the main notes, rounding out the scent with a gentle, slightly dusty finish. The overall impression is fruity and floral, but the animalic facet prevents it from smelling entirely innocent.
The scent feels polished and leans toward a mainstream aesthetic rather than a niche experiment. The apricot and lily provide an inviting start, while the black rose drives the personality of the wear. The lactonic and powdery elements make the texture smooth on the skin. The animalic accord is present throughout and may feel distracting to those who prefer their florals entirely fresh. The synthetic aspects of the fruit note can occasionally push forward and mask the more delicate floral details in the heart. The spice remains quiet and supports the rose without demanding attention. The limitation here is that the balance sometimes tilts too far toward the synthetic side of the apricot, which diminishes the natural appeal of the rose.
