The door opens onto a courtyard where rain has just passed through. Cool air still hangs over the stone, and someone is standing near a carved wooden bench with a glass of dark tea in hand. Bay leaf and bergamot arrive first, bright and textured, with mint threading through to keep the opening crisp. The citrus carries a faint bitter edge that stops it from feeling polished or clean.
Lily rises soon after, soft and slightly waxy, sitting close to the skin rather than floating outward. It does not turn the fragrance sweet. The flower reads as pale and still, lit by the glow of a single lantern and surrounded by damp air. Resins begin to warm the center, pulling the white floral note into something heavier and more grounded.
Oud enters with a dry, woody depth that feels carved rather than poured. Incense curls around it, lending a faint camphor coolness that matches the mint still lingering at the edges. The amber accord spreads slowly, balsamic and golden, binding the green opening to the smoke that now rests in the base. Each note stays distinct while the air between them grows denser.
The scene settles into a quiet corner where resinous wood and white petals share the same breath, and a thin ribbon of smoke drifts upward past the lantern light.
