Our take

A bottle of Pink Vanilla Wish smells like a promise you know won’t last past the parking lot. It opens with a quick, candied almond that has just enough edge to feel almost sophisticated, but then the peony rushes in, all clean and soapy, like a body splash you wore to your seventh-grade dance. The vanilla base is there, sure, warm and powdery and unmistakably synthetic, but it behaves more like a polite nod than a full embrace. For the first fifteen minutes, this is a perfectly pleasant Oriental Vanilla — a blur of sweet nuttiness and soft floral haze, the kind of scent that fills a room without asking permission. After that, it shrinks to a skin scent so faint you have to press your wrist to your nose to confirm it’s still there. At a 2.36 for sillage and 2.69 for longevity, this is a cloud that evaporates before you can pin it down. The overall character: a beige teddy bear dipped in vanilla frosting and left in a warm car. It’s sweet, powdery, and relentlessly cheerful, perfect for a spring afternoon running errands, or for someone who likes to reapply freely and doesn’t demand performance. If you want a fragrance that announces your arrival and lingers through dinner, skip it. But for a $7 impulse spray to make a dull Tuesday smell like optimism, it delivers exactly what it promises.
