Our take

Décou-Vert opens with a sharp, dewy slap of green leaves and lily-of-the-valley, the kind of fresh that feels more like biting into a raw stem than smelling a bouquet. That initial burst is almost aggressively vegetal, but it softens fast into a heart of magnolia, lilac, and jasmine that reads more like a pale, watery floral bouquet than any real garden bloom. The base of water notes, musk, and oakmoss tries to anchor it, but the aquatic accord pulls everything into a clean, almost synthetic transparency that never quite settles into skin.

This is a fragrance that whispers and then fades to a murmur. With longevity barely pushing past three hours and sillage that hovers around ankle-height, it behaves like a ghost of spring rain on a windowpane: visible for a moment, then evaporated. The overall character is that of a freshly laundered linen shirt hung out to dry under a magnolia tree. It feels natural enough in its opening, but the drydown leans toward a polite, soapy aquatic that wouldn't shock anyone in a mainstream department store.

It’s best suited for a cool spring afternoon when you want something unobtrusive and pleasant, but it lacks the nerve to command attention. If you crave projection or lasting presence, skip it. If you want a quiet, ephemeral floral-green that feels like a private sigh, it might charm you. Wear it to brunch or a daytime stroll, not to dinner or a date where you want to be remembered.
