Our take

Jezebel opens with a surprising lurch: chocolate and pear, a pairing that feels almost gauche, like a child sneaking a chocolate bar into a fruit basket. The pear is ripe and watery, the chocolate more of a dry cocoa powder dusting. Then the heart arrives in a heavy, floral wave. Damask rose and Moroccan jasmine are plumped up with vanilla and cashmere musk, creating a sweet, powdery cloud that sits thick on the skin. It settles into a base of osmanthus, sandalwood, and amber, with the vanilla and tonka bean turning the whole affair into a sticky, warm caramel. The dry down is a sweet amber powdery embrace, but it never quite sheds its synthetic edges.

This is a scent that feels like a velvet gown with a chocolate stain on the cuff. It is unapologetically sweet, heavy, and decidedly niche in its refusal to be subtle. The longevity is decent at nearly 4 out of 5, but the sillage hovers around a polite 3.29, meaning it stays close to the skin after the first hour. That is its main weakness: it promises a bold entrance but fades into a whisper too soon.

Jezebel suits someone who loves gourmand florals and wants a lush, romantic scent for cool evenings. It is almost exclusively a fall and winter fragrance, with spring being a borderline bet. Wear it to a candlelit dinner or a night out where you plan to be close, not loud. Skip it if you dislike powdery sweetness or need projection that lasts through a full evening. One question lingers: does it live up to its name, or is it just a tame, dessert-flavored rose? It leans toward the latter, but it is a pleasant enough indulgence. 🍫🌹
