Our take

You get plum, sour cherry, and raspberry right away in Midnight Fantasy, tart rather than jammy, more fruit-forward than most sweet florals bother to be. Orchid, iris, and freesia arrive shortly after, powdery and a bit soft, before vanilla, musk, and amber pull everything toward a warm, nutty, almond-tinted base that reads more like marzipan than caramel, sweet without turning sugary.

It holds for a fair stretch before thinning out, and the sillage stays compact, sitting just off the skin. Fall and winter bring out the warmth in the almond and amber best, though the cherry keeps enough brightness to work earlier in the year too. Night is clearly where it belongs, given how little daytime wear the fragrance seems built for.

Caroline Sabas built something simple and easy to like, sweet without being cloying, and that straightforwardness is exactly the point: nothing here asks to be decoded, it just smells good. Anyone drawn to fruity gourmand scents with a slightly nutty edge will find a lot to enjoy, while those wanting something drier or greener should look at a different shelf entirely.
