Dubai opens with a bright, tart lift of apple, lemon, bergamot, and pomelo, sharpened by ginger and the green-fruity edge of davana. The freshness has energy, yet the scent quickly gathers darker weight. Passionfruit and peach bring a lush, almost pulpy sweetness to the heart, while rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang, and cardamom give it a floral-spiced shape.
The transition feels like walking from a sunlit market into a room lined with dark wood. Indian oud, leather, patchouli, nagarmotha, and vetiver create the room’s grainy depth, with amber, vanilla, musk, and sandalwood smoothing the surface. Oud is clearly central, though the citrus and fruit keep the composition animated and give the leather a polished, modern character. The result is rich, textured, and distinctly dressy, with an oriental warmth that suits evening wear especially well.
Dubai is long-lasting, and its sillage forms a modest bubble around the wearer. It has enough presence for a dinner table, a gallery visit, or a dressed-up gathering, while remaining workable in spring and cooler weather. Autumn and winter bring out its resinous woods and leather most fully, though the opening has enough sparkle for brighter days. Dmitry Bortnikoff is credited as its perfumer, and the finished scent feels carefully layered, moving from crisp fruit to floral richness and finally into an oud-heavy, woody base.
