Our take

Bitter orange and blood mandarin open with a bright, tart snap that feels like walking past a fruit stall at midday. Bergamot adds a clean lift that keeps the citrus from leaning too heavy. Petitgrain arrives soon after, bringing a leafy green edge that cuts through the fruit. Peach softens the transition with a gentle, rounded sweetness. Pink pepper sits in the background, offering a quiet sparkle rather than a sharp bite.

The base moves into vanilla and tonka bean, but the sandalwood keeps them grounded and dry. Ambergris adds a subtle texture that makes the sweetness feel airy instead of dense. The powdery accord sits lightly on the skin, giving the whole composition a soft finish. It reads more like a modern city scent than a traditional oriental. The citrus and woody elements stay in clear view throughout.

The peach note can feel a bit synthetic next to the natural citrus opening. The pink pepper lacks the clarity it has in simpler compositions, sometimes blurring the heart. For a fragrance built on such vivid top notes, the middle section feels a little crowded and unsure of its direction.
