Character
Cumin sits heavy here. It pushes forward early, sharp and earthy, and it will not suit every nose. The opening feels crowded with it, basil and bay leaf tangled around grapefruit that barely gets a word in. Cloves add a dry sting. Oud arrives at the same moment, resinous and dark, giving the spices a wooden floor to stand on.
Ambergris and tobacco take over the center of the room. Cognac warms the air like a glass poured near a lit fireplace. The spices soften but never disappear. The scent feels thick, aromatic, and close, like standing in a wood-paneled study where the windows are fogged and the night outside is cold.
Sandalwood and benzoin smooth the edges. Vetiver keeps a green thread running through the resin so the sweetness does not collapse. The accord stays animalic and warm, a mix of citrus that has long since turned dark and wood that feels polished by hand. It is a fragrance built for stillness and for heat that comes from within.
Wear it when the air bites and the evening is long. It fits someone who likes spice to lead the way and who does not mind a bold, earthy presence in a small, warm room.
