Our take

Open with a sharp citrus and rhubarb pop that feels like cracking open a cold can of something fizzy and green. That burst is the only moment of real surprise here, because the heart folds into a familiar blend of juniper and cardamom softened by watery, almost aquatic notes. Olivier Cresp knows his way around a commercial male fragrance, and this one settles into a dry down where ambroxan meets a gentle patchouli and tonka warmth, woody but never heavy. It is a perfectly competent, mainstream aromatic woody scent that smells less like a luxury car interior and more like a freshly ironed button-down worn into a clean, air-conditioned sports bar.

The overall character is a tailored blazer that has been lightly splashed with a gin and tonic then left to evaporate in the sun. Everything stays polite and contained, which explains why the sillage barely nudges past a 2.97 rating. Longevity is also middling at best, fading within four or five hours. The synthetic edges are there, a slight plasticky sheen on the rhubarb and the water notes, but they never offend. This fragrance works best for someone who wants to smell put-together and inoffensive without commanding the room. Skip it if you crave depth, projection, or any kind of story. Wear it on a spring evening when you are meeting friends for drinks or on a cool summer day at the office. It is the olfactory equivalent of a competent handshake, reliable, forgettable, and entirely fine.
