Our take

Rose opens this blend with a bright, sour lemon that cuts through the softer floral petals. Lavender sits beside it, adding a clean, slightly medicinal edge to the first impression. The transition moves quickly into a heart where saffron offers a golden, slightly metallic heat. Frankincense brings a resinous, church-like smoke that feels dry against the skin. Sandalwood grounds the center with a creamy, pale wood texture that softens the sharper spices.

Christian Provenzano composed this oriental woody release for Neesh Perfumes in 2024. The oud in the base is prominent, presenting a dark, barnyard funk that dominates the dry down. Amber adds a heavy, honeyed warmth that sticks to the resinous theme. Musk and oakmoss combine to create a mossy, earthy foundation that feels damp and shadowed. The metallic accord weaves through the richer notes, giving the fragrance a modern, industrial sharpness.

The overall character is dense and unapologetically heavy. It suits a wearer who enjoys the contrast between floral elegance and aggressive, dark woods. Those who prefer sheer, transparent scents will find this composition too opaque and challenging. The tobacco accord adds a dry, cured-leaf roughness that pushes the scent further away from a standard pretty floral. It feels designed for a wardrobe that values depth over easy wearability.

Leather notes appear late, lending a rugged, tanned hide quality to the amber and oud. The citrus from the opening is completely swallowed by the weight of the resins and moss. It captures the atmosphere of a heavy wool coat catching the damp scent of wet earth and ancient trees in a stone courtyard.
