Our take

Pacoma Ego opens with a brisk herbal lift. Tarragon and basil cut through the bright edge of bergamot, while lavender smooths the edges just enough to keep the start from feeling sharp. It is a green and slightly medicinal entrance that signals this is not a gentle floral water. The spices in the heart arrive early, with cinnamon and caraway adding a dry heat that pushes the rose into the background rather than letting it lead. Resins glue the middle together, creating a dense, slightly sticky warmth that feels deliberate and heavy-handed in the best way.

The drydown is where the fragrance settles into its true weight. Patchouli and oakmoss form a damp, earthy floor, while leather and oak add a rugged, slightly smoky texture that feels like worn wood and old books. Tonka bean and sandalwood soften the edges with a creamy, sweet amber haze, but the musk keeps it grounded and close to the skin. Picture a heavy wool coat in a cool room filled with dried herbs and polished wood. The sweetness never fully takes over because the moss and leather pull it back into the shadows. There is a lingering tension between the resinous spice and the damp earthiness
