Bitter orange blossom and Calabrian bergamot open the composition with a bright, slightly sharp citrus lift. The jasmine and iris in the heart soften that edge, lending a powdery, almost vintage floral touch that feels deliberate rather than accidental. Saffron threads through the middle, warm and metallic, while nutmeg and cinnamon add a dry, aromatic heat that keeps the florals from floating away.
The base is a dense, resinous woods blend. Oud and vetiver sit beside sandalwood and guaiac wood, with vanilla, benzoin, tonka bean, and amber wrapping them in a sweet, golden haze. Labdanum and patchouli ground the mix, pushing it toward earthy and heavy rather than airy or fresh. The overall impression is a thick, oriental spice that clings to fabric and skin like a heavy scarf in a dimly lit room.
The vanilla and amber accords lean sweet, and that sweetness can become cloying if the air is warm or the application is heavy. The powder from the iris lingers long after the spices settle, which some will find charming and others will find dated. It is a dense, unapologetic fragrance that demands a certain mood and a certain tolerance for heavy resins.
