Silhouette by Rouge Bunny Rouge opens with a sharp, almost peppery slap of nutmeg and pimento, the coriander adding a green, herbal edge that keeps the spice from feeling heavy. Within minutes, the rose appears, but it is no soft or dewy bloom. It is a dusty, dried petal pressed between the pages of an old leather-bound book, threaded through with the clean bite of juniper and the dark, smoky breath of guaiac wood. The cedar and sandalwood eventually take the lead, but this is not a creamy sandalwood. It is a stripped, almost skeletal wood, wrapped in a stiff leather jacket that has been left out in the cold. The drydown is mostly a powder of vetiver and musk, with amber adding a faint warmth that never quite turns sweet.
This is a fragrance that feels more architectural than sensual, like a charcoal sketch of a body rather than the body itself.
