Character
23K opens with bay leaf and mint that feel crisp and slightly medicinal. The mint chills the green edge of the leaf without turning soapy, and the combination stays herbal rather than cooling. This is an aromatic start that feels deliberate, leaning into the fresh spicy accord while keeping the tone masculine and composed.
The heart introduces lily-of-the-valley, cedar, and rose. Cedar grounds the floral side so the rose does not dominate, and the lily-of-the-valley adds a pale, slightly powdery softness. The transition keeps the fragrance woody and aromatic, with the green thread from the top continuing into the middle. It feels structured rather than fluid, with each note occupying a clear space.
Base notes of tobacco, moss, oud, cashmeran, benzoin, and amber create a heavy, resinous foundation. The tobacco and oud feel dry and earthy, while the amber and benzoin add warmth. The mossy accord reinforces the green character already present. The blend is dense and dark, suited to evening wear. The one limitation is that the powdery accord from the heart sometimes dulls the sharper edges of the oud and tobacco.
