Morning sun hits the veranda of a mountain lodge. A wooden table holds a glass pitcher of cold citrus cider, the rind of a bitter orange pressed against the rim. Bitter orange and lemon lead the air, bright and sharp, quickly joined by lime and bergamot. Pine needles brush the railing, their resinous green threading through the fruit. Rosemary and orange leaf arrive soon after, herbal and clean, with peony offering a soft floral lift that never turns heavy. The opening feels like a deep breath taken outdoors, crisp and uncomplicated.
The cider sits in the glass, the ice slowly melting, and the air settles into something warmer. Vetiver and cedar build a dry, earthy frame, while patchouli adds a gentle weight that keeps the citrus from floating away. Sandalwood smooths the edges, and musk wraps the whole scene in a quiet, skin-close warmth. The pine remains, now blended with the woods rather than standing apart. The veranda stays still, the glass half full, the scent of orange rind and forest air resting together in the quiet mountain light.
