Our take

Pimento and Indian white pepper hit first, bright and biting, with paprika adding a dry heat that feels like sunlight on a stone terrace. Bergamot lifts the opening so it never sits flat, then sumac moves through the middle with a tart, reddish edge that keeps the spices from turning heavy. The start is vivid and immediate, more alive than polished, and it sets a tone that feels outdoor and unbuttoned rather than formal or restrained.

Beeswax and myrrh give the base a golden, resinous weight, while castoreum pulls the composition toward a rough leather texture that smells like worn tack and warm skin. Patchouli and labdanum deepen the amber accord, and guaiac wood with sandalwood add a dry woodiness that grounds the sharper spices without smoothing them out. The overall impression is a warm spicy resin that stays bold and slightly untamed, close to nature and far from a clean designer finish.

Amber Jobin built Burner Perfume No 3: Inuus as a dense, complex burn that throws many strong notes at once, and that is exactly where it stumbles. The mix can feel crowded, with the pepper, sumac, and resinous base all competing for attention at the same time. It asks the wearer to accept a certain roughness in the blend, and it never pretends to be a seamless or easy wear.
