Cyprus Shell
Fragrance notes
Character
The sun sits high over a stone quay where the water barely moves. A bowl of sliced pears and mandarins rests on a white cloth next to a glass of cold water that leaves a ring of salt on the rim. Cyprus Shell lives in that small circle of air. The fruit is ripe and dripping, the citrus oil bright against the skin of the fruit, and a pinch of salt pulls the sweetness into the open air. It is a clear, immediate picture that asks nothing from the person standing near it.
Orris rises from the cloth in a soft, powdery haze. The root smells cool and ground down, a pale dust that settles beside a rose with no weight to it. Incense curls through the middle, dry and faint, more like a memory of a chapel than the room itself. The flowers do not crowd the fruit. They sit nearby, quiet and composed, letting the salt and the pear keep the air fresh while the rose adds a gentle color to the air.
Beneath the dust and the fruit, the ground is damp. Patchouli and oakmoss smell of earth that has been shaded by stone all morning. Musk smooths the edges of the dirt, and Ambrofix™ adds a clean, wooden warmth that feels like a handrail in the sun. The base does not push upward. It holds the scene in place while the pear and the salt continue to drift through the air above it.
The cloth flaps once in a light wind. Pear, salt, orris, rose, incense, musk, patchouli, oakmoss, and Ambrofix™ sit together on a quay where the water reflects the stone and the sky.
