Our take

Glamour Midnight opens with a syrupy fistful of dates and plum, the almond adding a marzipan sharpness that cuts through the fruit. It’s a boozy, almost sticky start, like a dessert left too long in a warm room. Then the heart arrives with a muddled clatter of exotic spices, dusty benzoin, and a cacao note that reads more as unsweetened cocoa powder than chocolate. The black orchid is barely audible, which is a missed opportunity. On skin, the base turns into a thick paste of amber and patchouli, with the Peru balsam and milk doing their best to soften the edges into something vaguely lactonic and woody. The whole thing feels like a velvet throw blanket that someone spilled a spiced latte on, cozy but slightly synthetic around the seams.

This is a heavy, sweet oriental built for deep winter nights, and the numbers back that up. Longevity is middling, about three to four hours before it clings as a faint, powdery skin scent, and sillage is a modest arm’s-length affair. It’s not a bomb, it’s a whisper that wants to be a shout. Best worn for a semi-formal dinner or a date where you’ll be close to someone, not for a crowded party. It suits women who love gourmands but want something darker, less vanilla, more spice and stone fruit. Skip it if you prefer airy florals or crisp citruses. Glamour Midnight is a competent entry from a mainstream house, but at this price point, you can find bolder, more complex spicy orientals that actually last past a movie.
