Our take

It opens with a convincing illusion of juice. Grape and apple, tart and barely sweet, shot through with pink pepper’s electric prickle and a citrusy jolt that fades fast. The cypress and cardamom keep things dry, almost savory, before the heart descends into a strange mineral haze. This is not a clean fresh scent. It’s a rock face after rain, all wet stone and splintered wood. Guaiac and cedar give a smoky backbone, but the cashmeran and sandalwood blur it into something powdery, while rose and patchouli lurk like stains in the grain. The base is where the warmth wins out. Vanilla thickens, amber softens, and a dab of cypriol adds an ancient leathery bitterness. The whole thing feels like a dark, polished river stone that’s been rolled in crushed black grapes. A sweet woody gourmand that never quite goes full dessert.

Longevity is decent for the price, around six hours, but sillage sits close. It’s a handshake, not a hug. That makes it a smart choice for winter evenings, when you want something cozy without announcing yourself from across a room. It works best in crisp air because the sweetness clings and the mineral notes sharpen. Who should wear it? Anyone who wants a dressed-up fruity woody that’s more brooding than cheerful. Who should skip it? Those who hate powdery textures or find grape notes juvenile. This pulls them into the shadows. And that’s where it belongs.
