Our take

Oud Tempête opens with a burst of dark berries that feel crushed rather than polished. Blueberry, blackberry, and black currant arrive together, heavy and slightly syrupy, while lavender adds a cool, herbal lift that keeps the fruit from feeling flat. The entrance is loud and colorful, more market stall than manicured garden.

The heart turns the volume down just enough for plum liquor and saffron to take over. The plum smells fermented and rich, the saffron dry and metallic, and violet floats above them with a powdery softness. This stage is where the fragrance finds its balance between indulgence and restraint.

Laotian oud anchors the base with a resinous, slightly medicinal woodiness that feels raw and expensive. Rum adds a warm, boozy sweetness, cypriol brings a smoky earthiness, and ambergris smooths the edges with a salty skin scent. The drydown is dense, woody, and thoroughly unapologetic.

Composed by Camille Chemardin for Yzkine in 2025, this is a fragrance that smells like a storm rolling through a cellar stocked with fruit preserves and rare timber.
