Our take

Lemon and mandarin orange open this blend with a bright, sunlit energy that feels immediate and cheerful. Fig adds a soft, creamy roundness to the citrus, keeping the opening from feeling sharp or thin. It smells like a morning market stall where fruit sits in warm light, fresh and inviting without any synthetic bite.

Lavender and jasmine move in soon after, with cinnamon lending a gentle spice that never overwhelms the flowers. The heart stays aromatic and clean, leaning into the powdery side of the lavender rather than the medicinal one. Cedar and sandalwood give the base a dry, polished wood character that grounds the earlier sweetness.

Patchouli here is earthy and dark, which drags the whole composition into a heavier place than the opening promises. The transition from bright fruit to dense wood feels abrupt, and the scent loses some of its early charm as the patchouli takes over. It suits someone who enjoys contrasting moods in one bottle.

Magique is composed by Jean-Marc Chaillan. The drydown becomes murky and a bit muddy, with the powdery florals clashing against the heavy patchouli instead of blending smoothly. This lack of cohesion in the final stage is the real drawback for anyone seeking a seamless wear.
