Our take

Drago Nero opens with a bright, juicy rush of pineapple and tangerine that promises a sunny, carefree day, but that cheerful fruitiness fades faster than you might hope, leaving a gap before the heart notes fully arrive. Cloves and iris step in to add a powdery, aromatic warmth, yet the transition feels slightly disjointed rather than seamless. The apple and bergamot try to keep things crisp, but the magnolia and orange blossom drift by without making a strong impression, making the early stages feel a bit scattered.

Composed by Mark Buxton, this Linari scent eventually settles into a woody, earthy base of vetiver, guaiac wood, and oak, softened by tonka bean and musk. It suits a relaxed morning walk through a city park when the air is warm but not heavy, or a casual outdoor lunch where you want something fresh and aromatic without demanding attention. The ambergris and sandalwood give it a smooth, slightly sweet finish that feels approachable and modern. Still, that initial promise of vibrant fruit never quite carries through, and the middle section can feel thin, making the overall composition seem a little hesitant rather than bold.
