Character
Highland Elixir opens with labdanum and incense, joined by thyme, rose, and sage. The resin warms the smoke immediately, while the herbs keep the entrance from feeling heavy. Rose adds a soft, slightly powdery layer that sits close to the resin without turning floral.
Patchouli and cedar take over the center, with leather and violet rounding out the profile. The patchouli is earthy and dark, the cedar dry and straight, and the leather wears a mild animalic edge. Violet smooths the sharper edges of the wood and hides inside the leather rather than announcing itself.
Amber, oud, and dry wood form the foundation. The amber is deep and resinous, the oud woody and slightly medicinal, and the dry wood reinforces the cedar from earlier. Together they create a dense, musky base that feels warm against cool air and dim lighting, suited to a quiet street at night when the temperature drops and the sky stays dark.
The herbal top and the smoky heart stay present as the amber and oud settle, so the fragrance never becomes purely woody or purely resinous. Leather and violet continue to temper the heavier materials, while sage and thyme keep the entrance
