The composition stays sweet throughout, but the sugar and vanilla in the base push that sweetness into a heavy, candy-like register. Musk rounds out the drydown with a clean, pale finish that sits close to the skin.
Francis Camail composed this feminine release for House Of Sillage in 2012. The scent feels polished and deliberate, aiming for a gourmand floral that leans heavily on its nutty accord. It suits someone who enjoys almond-forward perfumes and does not mind a sugary drydown. The limitation here is the balance. The sugar and vanilla can overwhelm the florals, making the blend feel one-dimensional after a short while. The bitter almond promises complexity, but the base does not deliver enough contrast to sustain that promise. It is a straightforward scent that runs out of ideas before it runs out of sugar.
