Our take

El Beso opens with a fizzy burst of citrus that immediately gets smothered by a cloying caramel, sweet enough to make your teeth ache. The flowers are in there somewhere, but they’re powdered and blunted, wrapped in a vanilla so synthetic it could be candle wax. As it dries down, precious woods try to add some spine, but they’re barely audible beneath the sugar glaze. The whole thing feels like a cheap candy necklace left on a dashboard in July: sticky, bright, and melting into nothing within an hour. Longevity clocks in at a dismal 2.66, sillage barely a whisper at 2.38, so you’ll be reapplying before lunch if you want anyone to notice.

This is aggressively mainstream, the kind of scent that lives on drugstore shelves next to glitter lotions. It suits a teenager who wants to smell like a carnival funnel cake and doesn’t mind that the perfume evaporates faster than her patience. Anyone over twenty five should skip it unless they have a nostalgic soft spot for sugary zeroes from the late aughts. Wear it on a spring afternoon when you’re alone at the park, reading a romance novel you’ll forget by dinner. It won’t last the chapter, but that might be a blessing in disguise.
