Our take

You spray Bois Enchanté and a bright splash of grapefruit cuts through the sweetness of ripe peach and apple. A spring morning in a bottle, crisp and cheerful. The heart blooms into a soft bouquet of orange blossom and lily of the valley, with violet adding a dollop of face powder. The base settles into a simple, skin-close blend of clean musk, cedar’s light pencil shavings, and a whisper of sandalwood. It smells like the inside of a wicker picnic basket lined with a floral-print cloth, fresh linens and fruit mingling, but the picture is painted in watercolor, not oil. The sweetness is tempered by green touches, making it feel natural rather than syrupy, though the whole affair leans more mainstream than niche.

Longevity is the real letdown: you get maybe two hours before it retreats into a faint musk. Sillage stays polite, never more than an arm’s length away. This is a fragrance for daytime errands, a casual brunch, or a light office day in spring or summer. It suits someone who prefers understated prettiness over bold statements. Skip it if you need a scent to last through dinner, or if you find powdery florals cloying. Bois Enchanté is lovely while it lasts, but it disappears like a passing thought.
