Instinct Charnel
Fragrance notes
Character
Instinct Charnel opens with a playful mix of hazelnut, peach, and popcorn. The peach brings a bright, juicy facet that cuts through the richer opening, while the popcorn adds a warm, toasted air. Hazelnut grounds the trio with a dry, roasted depth that prevents the fruit from feeling too light.
In the heart, ylang-ylang and neroli introduce a yellow floral softness that sits atop a thick layer of caramel. The caramel is heavy and syrup-like, wrapping the flowers in a golden sweetness. As the fragrance moves to the base, sandalwood and vanilla take over alongside coconut and musk. The sandalwood provides a creamy, woody backbone that supports the vanilla, while the coconut reinforces the gourmand character with a tropical, milky touch.
The musk in the drydown leans powdery, which mingles with the vanilla to create a soft, slightly dusty finish. This powdery quality can sometimes mute the brighter peach and neroli that were present earlier. The composition feels dense and rich, which makes the floral elements occasionally struggle to stand out against the heavy gourmand base.
