Salome opens with a fistful of bruised gardenia and tinned pineapple, the citrus notes smeared into a sticky, almost tropical sweetness. The freesia and bergamot do little to cut through the florals; this is a white floral bomb wrapped in a fruity haze from the first spray. Within minutes, the magnolia and peony take over, softening the jasmine and rose into a powdery, blush-pink bouquet that feels less like a garden and more like a dusted vanity table. The drydown is where it finally relaxes: warm sandalwood and tonka bean round out the tuberose, which here is waxy and slightly indolic, not the clean, creamy kind.
The overall image is a woman in a silk peignoir, sipping cheap champagne at 6 a.m. after a long night, lipstick smudged and hair undone. It is sweet and powdery, leaning mainstream in its structure but with a synthetic, almost grape-candy note that keeps it from feeling natural. The longevity is mediocre at best, maybe three hours before it collapses into a skin scent, and the projection is polite even at peak. This is not a room-filler, nor is it trying to be. It suits someone who wants a soft, flirtatious white floral for cool autumn evenings or winter date nights, but if you dislike tuberose or find powdery ambers cloying, step away. Best worn in the fall, when the air pulls the sweetness down instead of flinging it into the sun.
