Giardini Segreti (Italian Journey No. 3)
Fragrance notes
Character
Neroli and bitter orange open with a bright, sunlit snap, while honeysuckle and bergamot round the edges into something soft and inviting. Galbanum threads through the top notes with a green, sap-like bite that keeps the citrus from feeling flat. The white florals arrive quickly. Tuberose and gardenia lead with a creamy weight, jasmine adds a clean lift, and mimosa brings a faint, pollen-like fuzz. Rose geranium and orris sit underneath, giving the heart a faintly powdery, slightly herbal texture that keeps the flowers from turning heavy.
The base stays close to the skin with musk and amber, while ambergris leaves a salty, animalic trace that makes the whole composition feel alive and slightly untamed. It smells like walking through a flowering garden after rain, when the air is thick with petals but the soil still shows through. The galbanum that opened the fragrance reappears here, tying the start to the finish with a sharp green line. There is a vintage elegance to the way the florals are built, yet the citrus and salt keep it from feeling dated. Wear it on a warm morning when you want to feel composed and a little bit glamorous, and you will be happy to carry that scent with you.
