The opening is a crowded spice rack that fights itself. Clove, star anise, nutmeg, paprika, and black pepper all arrive at once, and the mandarin orange barely cuts through the noise. It feels busy rather than bright, and the first few minutes can be overwhelming if you apply too much.
Ginger sits at the center, fleshy and warm rather than sharp. Benzoin and beeswax give the flowers a honeyed weight, so the osmanthus and jasmine feel rich instead of airy. Rose adds a soft petal texture that keeps the heart from becoming a flat wall of resin.
Rum and cacao bring a dark, edible depth to the base, while patchouli and oakmoss pull it toward the earth. French labdanum and tolu balsam add a thick amber glow, and sandalwood smooths the edges. Ambrette lingers with a gentle, musky softness that rounds out the denser woods.
