Aromatic men's fragrances often lean too heavily on lavender and call it a day, but this composition makes a stronger case for the entire woody family. The opening brings bergamot and mandarin orange together with rosemary, creating a bright start that feels intentional rather than generic. Water jasmine and petitgrain sit in the heart alongside clary sage and palisander rosewood, giving the lavender a green, slightly floral lift that keeps the aroma from flattening out.
The base carries sandalwood, patchouli, cedar, musk and iris, which explains the powdery accord that runs through the record. This is where the argument settles. The wood here is not rugged or outdoorsy. It is polished and refined, suited to a dress shirt and a formal setting rather than a weekend outdoors.
